On Thursday, February 28, Devon underwent emergency surgery. He thought it was the Vietnamese food he’d eaten when in fact it was far worse. They had to cut him open and take care of his intestines and bowel. Fun. He’s been recovering for days in a hospital bed with hospital food and hospital painkillers. He’s getting all hospital-ed out, and hopefully he’ll be released soon. After he does, his mom’s gunna take care of him in his hometown for at least two months.
As he’s healing, there’s another stabbing pain that will take a much longer time to recover from. And that’s the pain of the hospital bill. He needs our help. There won’t be enough discounts from the government to help him. And something will need to happen with his rent so his roommates aren’t put out. If you can help him out in any way, please do. It doesn’t matter if it’s 2 dollars or 20, it’s just a bit of help to get him thru this hard time. We need to let him know that he’s not alone and that we’re here to support him.
Please leave a comment for him. He could use some cheering up.

Devon you are the human cartoon character, and cartoons never die. Although they may get sick from time to time, they always bounce back and kick some major ass.
I only meet you in person twice, and at NAVA you literally where the highlight of the event to not only me but to several other people who never have meet you before. You are the amazing force that this world needs to make us realize life is too damn short to take it seriously.
I wish you a speedy and full recovery, and don’t get too addicted to those meds, you could sell them for a damn good price once you get out.

Get well Devon! I know what the hospital bill thing is like. I did a stupid thing years ago when I didn’t have medical insurance and it cost over $500 just to have a doctor touch my ankle. The costs suck man and take a while to pay off, but look at the good end of the spectrum…you aren’t dead! Yay!

I’m figuring that you needed the surgery because you are simply too awesome. Your own body couldn’t take how awesome you are, and it decided to rebel a bit.
Seriously, I hope you get through this with a very speedy recovery. I hate the idea of you having to go through pain when you normally go so far out of your way to bring happiness to everyone around you. Get well soon, Devon.

Insurance is a really pricey commodity over here. Devon isn’t wealthy (the guy got out of film school just a couple years ago) and he lives in Astoria, NY (a very expensive place). The sad truth is not everyone can afford insurance here. It’s not always an option.
Get well soon, Devon and definitely lay off the Vietnamese food. I swear those little guys are out to get us.
